Cincinnati Bell Manager, Cyber Operations in Cincinnati, Ohio

Position : Manager, Cyber Operations

Location : Cincinnati, OH

Job Purpose :

The Cyber Operations Manager is a position responsible for managing the Security Operations Center team(s) which search for, monitor for, and respond to threats, cyber-attacks, and data breaches as well as track security vulnerabilities across all attack surfaces.

Essential Functions :

  • Security Management - Establishment, facilitation, or operation of cyber and physical security processes to protect an organization's facilities, assets, information, and services

  • People Management - Direct and indirect management of employees, teams, and stakeholders; sets direction of cross-functional teams and stakeholders and mentors department staff

  • Financials - Track and measure costs to ensure appropriate investment and efficient and effective solutions to drive business value

  • Risk Management - Identifies and mitigates potential cyber and physical security risks

  • Compliance Management - Assess and facilitate compliance of the organization with external regulatory requirements that relate to security; active participation with external consortia and agencies

  • Policies and standards - Develop and deliver commercially acceptable policies and standards that mitigate physical and cyber risks to altafiber information, IT systems, electronic products, facilities, and physical assets

  • Innovative Solutions - Designs creative solutions that use technologies and processes to mitigate physical and cyber risks to altafiber information, IT systems, electronic products, facilities, and physical assets

  • Security Implementation and Operations - Operationalize documented solutions and deliver day-to-day security operations and support

Education :

Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Certifications, Accreditations, Licenses :

Relevant certification preferred (e.g. Security+)

Relevant Work Experience :

5 to 7 years in related field

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Strong analytical and quantitative capability with attention to detail

  • Forward thinking, ability to identify and contribute to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and workflow

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Maintain highest level of integrity

  • Ability to function under high-stress situations, and to logically troubleshoot complex network and/or application security issues

  • Familiarity with essential SOC tools and capabilities: asset discovery, vulnerability assessment, behavioral monitoring, intrusion detection, and SIEM (Security Information and Event Monitoring)

  • Familiarity with Incident Response procedures

  • Ability to manage team members responsible for the SOC/threat hunting function with a positive attitude and an eye for individual development

This position has one or more employee direct reports

Work Environment :

Work performed mainly in an office
