Cincinnati Bell Lead NOC Technical Support in Lima, Ohio
Position : Lead NOC Technical Support
Location : Lima, OH
Job Purpose :
This position is responsible for providing technical support, dispatching trouble tickets to the Field Engineering team, and enforcing technical standards for the Network Operations Center. This position will be responsible for communicating between the Altafiber NOC and the Network Engineer Manager in a daily report. This technical support specialist provides first-line support to the company's work groups for IP services, including access devices services for these platforms between 11pm-7am Sunday -- Friday.
Essential Functions:
Access Equipment Technical support for the company's Network Operations Center - 70%
Provide technical expertise on ATM services and IP services pertaining to Access Equipment Serve as the escalation point for NOC operations for video and data technical issues related to Access Equipment Identify issues that are chronic or inherent to the access devices Develop/deliver training and documentation - 30%
Documentation of procedures to ensure efficient monitoring and troubleshooting of the Access Network. Communicate with altafiber NOC that currently handling our 24/7 NOC support. Develop and deliver training for work groups that are responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting the Access network on the 3 rd
Education :
Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Relevant Work Experience:
2 to 4 years in related field
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Familiarity with the company's products and services and how those products and services utilize the network
Extensive hands-on experience in the configuration and maintenance of routers, microwave radios, and power systems. Preferred.
In-depth Experience with TCP/IP platforms involving dynamic routing protocols like EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, and BGP and their related control protocols
Practical real-world experience of heterogeneous networking components along with knowledge of routing/ switching involving VLANs
Experience with ongoing operation support of access and transport equipment
Proficient problem-solving skills
Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously and tracking/ managing issues to resolution
Strong interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written)
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to lead and mentor less experienced personnel in completing technically oriented tasks
Computer skills- familiarity with word processors, spreadsheets, database software, and communications transmission protocols
